CONTENT Watercolor Workshop in Lalambik
The beauty of watercolor is that it's a quick and easy technique. A small sketchbook, a set of watercolors, and some brushes are all you need to unleash your creativity and express yourself wherever you are.
We often encounter resistance to the watercolor technique, with people saying it's very difficult. Watercolor is a fluid technique; the color flows in the water, and the trick lies in appreciating the beauty that arises when a drop of color is placed on the water, observing the alchemy of what happens on our paper, and, as if conducting musical notes, becoming the conductor of an orchestra and directing our precious compositions.
In this workshop we will learn:
- The importance of paper, different types of paper, and how to prepare it for painting according to our needs
- Colors. We will start with the three primary colors, magenta, yellow, and cyan, and learn how to mix them to create all the colors of the color spectrum. Concepts such as primary, secondary, and complementary colors, harmony, the infinite range of grays, saturation, gradients, and tones are covered in this section.
- .We will learn to observe light in order to capture it in our work, understanding that with this technique, the white is given to us by the luminosity of the paper itself.
- Chromatic perspective. If we want to paint landscapes, we will learn the chromatic concepts we must use to achieve the desired effects.
- Textures and washes. Watercolor is a technique that allows us to modify it by wetting it, which offers us a wealth of pictorial resources.
- The sensitive brushstroke. We will learn to loosen our hand to achieve an expressive brushstroke or to control it to make more delicate strokes.
- Connecting with our creativity. Facing a blank page is a meditative act in itself that helps us sharpen our concentration. Watercolor, and art in general, has the ability to bring us to the present moment and thus oxygenate our brain, leading us to connect with our own creativity.

Hi, I'm interested in the classes but I haven't quite understood the introductory class and the workshop.
Hi Gema. The workshop is usually held with the regular group. For new participants, there's an introductory session that lasts an hour before the regular group arrives. I hope this answers your question. If you need to speak with me, my phone number is 660827028. Thanks and see you soon! Carmen Ibarra
The classes are fantastic, the company excellent, and Carmen is a true professional; it has been a wonderful experience.
Thank you so much, Marisa. It's been a pleasure having you in the workshop and I hope to see you again soon!
It was a very interesting and relaxing class. It's a great opportunity to explore your creativity and it's also a very calming activity. I really enjoyed it!
Thanks Nico! It's been great sharing watercolor painting with you! We hope to see you again soon!
Hello! Are the classes in English or Spanish?
I'm just learning Spanish and I'm afraid that my level won't be sufficient
Hello! The classes are in Spanish but very visual. I speak a little English and you will also have English-speaking companions. So I encourage you to eat and try and then decide. I'm sure you'll love it. See you soon!
I spent a month taking Carmen's watercolor classes, both at Lalambik and the botanical garden. I highly recommend Carmen as a teacher. I found it very instructive to learn from Carmen teaching people working on a variety of projects at different levels. The studio has a wonderful atmosphere with inspiring art on the walls and interesting people attending classes. I look forward to returning next year and wish Carmen and the studio all the best in 2025.
Thank you very much Shelley, it has been a pleasure to have you in my watercolor workshops. You are very creative and we have also learned a lot from you. I hope you repeat your experience in Valencia because we would love to have you here again.
Hello
Will you have classes in August as well please?
Kathryn
Hello Katryn! Thank you for your interest in my watercolor workshops. I don't have the August schedule yet, but I have several workshops in July. You can check them out at http://www.carmenibarra.com/workshops or send me a WhatsApp message at 660827028 to receive updated information on your phone. See you soon! Carmen Ibarra
I loved the introductory watercolor workshop. And the welcoming atmosphere was wonderful.
Thank you, Irene! It's been a pleasure painting with you! See you soon!
I attended the introductory watercolor workshop last Friday and I loved it. Carmen brilliantly explains the first steps to understanding how the materials work, the color pigments and their transformation and dance with water. She inspires confidence, and her skill and creative talent are palpable. It was a beautiful morning. I'll be back. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much, Siri! It's been a pleasure painting with you, and I hope to continue doing so for a long time. See you soon!
It's only been a short time, but I've loved it! I'll keep painting watercolors 🥰
Thank you so much, Teo! It's been a pleasure, I'll be waiting for you whenever you want!
Good evening, I'm writing because I'd really like to pay for a class and try it out for a single afternoon session. I was supposed to go this week in June, but I have a doctor's appointment and I forgot. I'm not sure what time it will be, but I'd like to try it; it seems interesting.
Esmeralda, please text me at 660827028 and I'll tell you about the workshops we have running this summer. Cheers!
Good morning Carmen
I was looking at the prices and my question is, once we've done the Introduction, it says:
4 Vouchers without materials €60 (this means that I provide the materials, not you).
Thank you for your attention.
All the best
Hi Jose, I replied to you by email.
